Wedding Favors History

Have you ever wondered where the tradition of wedding favors began? They have been an important part of wedding ceremonies worldwide and have been for centuries. It may even be possible that giving out favors to wedding guests is thousands of years old.

The wedding favor is a symbol of the bride and groom's gratitude and appreciation for sharing such a special event with those attending their wedding. What type of wedding favor you will be presented with will depend entirely upon what culture is hosting the nuptials. Wedding favors differ from region to region and country to country.

Wedding Speeches

One of the things the gift of wedding favors do have in common is the tradition of giving five candies to represent the 5 wishes for all happy couples. These wishes are longevity, fertility, happiness wealth and health.

You can consider wedding favors one of the most important aspects of your wedding. You can choose such items as practical gifts like picture frames, bottle openers or candles, or you may choose decorative items that might be made of crystal, wood or silver.

The French used to call the small and fancy boxes they handed out at weddings bonboniere. The bonboniere was made from gold, porcelain or crystal and for those wealthy enough; they were encrusted with precious gems and stones. Bonbonieres were made to hold bonbons or other sweet treats and were considered delicacies because of the high price of sugar.

Those who lived a more modest existence chose wedding favors that were simpler. You will find the tradition of presenting the guests with a wedding favor across all cultures. Marriage is viewed as a sacred bond between two people in almost all heritages and in the past, a bride and groom were considered to be lucky. It was thought they brought luck to all they touched so a wedding favor was a token that was desired by all.

Today the tradition of passing out wedding favors to your guests is still revered. Brides take a lot of time choosing just the right gift to present to their friends and families so that it reflects the unique personality of the marrying couple. Wedding favors can be homemade or they can be store bought, they can be simple or they can be elaborate; it is entirely up to the tastes of the couple getting married. The most important factor is the sentiment that is behind the gift.

The wedding master of ceremonies role includes the following:

Wedding Speeches

1. If audio equipment is needed for the reception, then the master of ceremonies needs to check that all audio equipment is in good working order.

2. He helps to arrange the bridal party into their correct positions in the receiving line. The receiving line should line up from left to right in the following order: bride's mother, brides father, grooms mother, grooms father, the bride, the groom, the maid of honor (optional), bridesmaids (optional), groomsmen (optional).

3. He should announce the entrance of the newly married couple once all the guests have been seated.

4. He should welcome everybody to the wedding and introduce himself as well as the head table.

5. The wedding master of ceremonies role includes the announcement of when the food is served as well as introduce the person who will be blessing the food.

6. He needs to give the head table ten minutes warning before the speeches start, so that they can go to the bathroom and freshen up before the speeches begin.

7. He needs to make sure everyone has something to toast with before the speeches begin.

8. The wedding master of ceremonies role, once the main course is complete is to call upon the first person to make the speeches, this is usually someone who knows the couple well, who presents a toast or speech to the bride and groom.

9. The groom is announced by the MC and usually accepts the toasts and thanks the guests for coming. He then many times finishes with a toast to the bridesmaids and maid of honor. This can now a days be done by either the groom/bride or both.

10. The best man is then called by the MC to accept the toast on behalf of the bridesmaids and makes a speech about the groom and finally makes a toast to both sets of parents.

11. The wedding master of ceremonies role is then to call both sets of parents to speak, firstly the parents of the bride and then the grooms parents.

12. Once the toasts and speeches are finished, then the MC usually calls on the best man to read any letter, emails and faxes etc sent by guests that could not attend.

13. Now he as the master of ceremonies will propose a toast to all absent family and friends.

14. This is then preceded by the announcement of the cutting of the cake, after which the dessert is served.

15. The MC will then announce the first dance, which takes place usually after the dessert.

16. He will announce the garter and bouquet throwing ceremonies at any time as prearranged with the bridal couple.

17. The final master of ceremonies role is to announce the end of the evening and when the bridal couple are to leave.

The most important thing to remember is that you need to sit down with the master of ceremonies and go through the evening step by step so that he is comfortable and knows what the bride and groom expect from him as wedding master of ceremonies role.

Royal Wedding Composition 04/29/2011: Servants of History Video Clips. Duration : 1.82 Mins.

A poem to celebrate the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, April 29, 2011 Locate. Written and spoken by Rogi Moulton, a poet of the tubes. Music: "Lonely Trumpet" composed and recorded by Rogi. The production of rogionline. Servants of history are so public. Recorded live, played for the global eyes and ears. A magnetized predestined to the rituals of the ancient symbolic rites. We know that your shrugs, gestures, listening to his speech, your habits, see the aging, changing, determined in line heir to a throne of blood in ages. Begins today, will take two lives, sleep wake, obeying commands, travel, dress, arm waving, shaking hands, feasting on fine salad, quail, roasted chicken. This is all we see, know nothing of what we do. Remember nights lost in the private reality, not a king and a queen, two people are related, not the rulers, brave servant of the story. Make your honeymoon valuable today, life is not so sweet. Undetected soft ticking clock will stop only the firstHeart still rests, the contest ends for this player. Bed darling, love the stars, emotions, the agony of lost freedom. Loneliness is private: it is the owner, others have it.
